LingLong Tires – Chicago,IL

About the Event

This game-based experience event in Chicago brought guests together for an interactive evening centered around competition, entertainment, and shared experiences. With gameplay driving the event, the visual coverage needed to capture more than what was happening. It needed to communicate the reactions, excitement, movement, and atmosphere surrounding every moment.

The Challenge

The primary objective was to create dynamic video content that placed the guest experience at the center of the story, supported by a curated selection of event photography.

With both photography and videography handled by one crew member, the coverage needed to be carefully balanced while maintaining video as the clear priority. The final footage had to feel energetic and immersive rather than simply documenting the event from the sidelines.

Key objectives included:

  • Capturing genuine guest reactions, emotions, and excitement throughout the games.
  • Following gameplay closely enough to document important moments as they happened.
  • Creating a mix of dynamic movement, close-ups, crowd shots, and wide angles.
  • Producing supporting photography featuring candid interactions, group moments, and the overall atmosphere.
  • Maintaining a bold, American-style visual aesthetic throughout the video coverage.
  • Capturing footage specifically structured for a 1–2 minute horizontal highlight video.
  • Creating photo and video assets suitable for social media, event recaps, and future promotional content.

The challenge was ensuring that a single hybrid shooter could move naturally through the experience, anticipate reactions, and switch between formats without losing the spontaneous moments that gave the event its energy.

Shootday’s Approach

Shootday developed the coverage around guest experience, movement, and visual storytelling, with videography taking priority throughout the four-hour event.

  • Video Coverage
    • Filmed horizontally to create a cinematic format suitable for the final highlight video.
    • Followed guests throughout gameplay to capture reactions, excitement, competition, and engagement as they unfolded.
    • Combined energetic gameplay footage with candid moments between participants.
    • Used a variety of wide shots, crowd scenes, close-ups, and detail shots to give the final edit visual depth.
    • Prioritized movement and immersive perspectives rather than relying on static event coverage.
    • Structured the footage around sequences that could transition naturally into a fast-paced, music-driven 1–2 minute highlight film.
  • Photography Coverage
    • Captured key reactions and memorable moments during gameplay.
    • Documented candid guest interactions and group experiences.
    • Created atmosphere shots that complemented the story being captured on video.
    • Selected strong standalone moments suitable for social media and event recap content.

With one professional handling both formats, the coverage remained agile and unobtrusive while maintaining consistency across the photography and videography.

The Outcome

A collection of event photography and dynamic video footage capturing the Chicago experience from the guests’ perspective.

A 1–2 minute horizontal highlight video built around movement, emotion, gameplay, and the energy of the evening.

Supporting photography featuring guest reactions, candid interactions, group moments, and event atmosphere, providing the client with additional assets beyond the main video.

Together, the photo and video content created a versatile visual recap that could be used across social media, promotional campaigns, event recaps, and future marketing initiatives.
